Executive Summary

Sendle now supports sending International parcels from the United States. International shipments have slightly different data requirements than domestic shipments (including requiring HS codes), and US international shipments require a new contents type field.

Changes

The Get products, Get a quote, and Create an order endpoints now support quoting and creating US export orders. Orders from the United States can be sent worldwide, with coverage being listed on this support article.

Compared to domestic orders, International orders have more data requirements. In particular parcel_contents is required, which lists exactly what is contained within the parcel. This includes details like country of origin, HS code, and value in USD.

Contents type

International shipments from the United States need a specified contents type. This is supplied as a new field called contents_type, and can be one of the following values:

  • Documents
  • Gift
  • Merchandise
  • Returned Goods
  • Sample
  • Other
