Partners and Multi-Tenant Sites

If your platform lets others ship, you can partner with Sendle.

To us, a partner is a company, business, or marketplace that lets other senders mail orders with Sendle. For example: 3PLs help merchants store inventory and ship orders, B2C marketplaces let merchants send packages with Sendle, and C2C marketplaces let users ship between each other.

Here we'll explain everything you need to know to let Sendle help your senders with their shipping. This section also covers your extra requirements and functionality when using the Sendle API, compared to regular senders. If you have any questions, our Partnerships team can help you answer them.

How to ship with Sendle

You can integrate with Sendle in multiple ways, letting us handle more or less of the process.

Some partners choose to have multiple integration types at the same time to suit different sender needs – for example, a BYOA integration can live alongside a Reseller one. Some partners also start off using one type of integration and move to another later on.

Here are the players:

1. Bring Your Own Account (BYOA) integration

With this integration, you refer senders to Sendle.com where they setup their own account and bring their Sendle API credentials to your platform. The platform makes the booking using the sender's API credentials and the sender's Sendle account is charged based on their current account rates.

BYOA integrations let senders create and bring their own Sendle account to your app. It's perfect for shipping tools and aggregators, or marketplaces that want to help their senders ship without needing to handle billing.

  • Engineering effort to let your senders connect their Sendle ID and API Key, have your app quote and send orders through Sendle, and to view/modify those orders via your app.
  • Senders can ship domestically and internationally with Sendle.
  • Sendle handles all billing, adjustments, and refunds directly with the sender.
  • Your platform does not have a parcel volume commitment with us.

2. Reseller-style integration

Depending on your parcel volume, you'll implement a Reseller Lite (streamlined onboarding) or Reseller (higher-volume) integration.

With this integration, your senders book Sendle labels within your platform without setting up a separate Sendle account. The platform is billed and we provide CSV files to let you reconcile charges/refunds with your users' accounts. You'll either use one of our standard rate cards or a custom rate card with parcel commitments. Senders and receivers can also get Authorised Tracking Page links, which let them self-service support functions.

Reseller Lite partners sell standard rates and use established reseller functionality. These integrations are perfect for smaller, new, or startup marketplaces that want more control over how their sellers send parcels.

  • Engineering effort to have your app quote and send orders through Sendle, view/modify those orders via your app, and handle account reconciliation using the CSV files we provide.
  • Senders can ship domestically and internationally with Sendle.
  • Sellers cannot link their own Sendle account.
  • Sendle charges your platform for each order.
  • Your platform handles all billing, adjustments, and refunds with the sender.
  • Your platform is billed via credit card.
  • Your platform resells our standard rates.
  • Your platform does not have a parcel volume commitment with us.

Reseller partners are our largest. They have parcel volume commitments and have access to custom rates, which they can resell to senders on their platform. Being a reseller means building a custom, bespoke integration with engineering effort with from both Sendle and your platform.

  • Your platform must use offline billing instead of credit-card billing.
  • Your platform resells custom rates.
  • Your platform has a parcel volume commitment with us.
  • Sendle can build custom endpoints, unique features, and/or special financial integrations for your platform.

3. Send Parcel link

With this, you link senders to Sendle.com where they set up their own account. They can then easily book orders by following a link from your app that pre-fills details into our Send Parcel form.

This is a low-complexity integration that should require very little engineering effort.
